Punjab shutting down India's access to Sikh websites

By Anju Kaur | November 19, 2015

Punjab's Badal administration is shutting down access to Sikh websites, Youtube channels and Facebook pages in India.

A U.S. court yesterday agreed with Facebook's block of the New York-based human rights group, Sikhs For Justice.

India has also blocked the British-based Sikhchannel.com.

Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal, director of the counter intelligence wing of the Punjab Police, is stereotyping diaspora Sikhs as "radicals," and accusing the foreign Sikh media of publishing "seditious" and "provocative" content, such as photos of police atrocities since 1984.
